# Terms of Service Last updated: February 2025 These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AI Shortcuts ("we", "our", "the Service"), including the macOS application and web playground. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. ## 1. Description of Service AI Shortcuts is a productivity tool that processes user-selected text through third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) to provide improvements, translations, summaries, and custom transformations. The Service is available as a macOS application and a browser-based playground. ## 2. Eligibility You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. ## 3. Free and Pro Plans The Service offers a free tier with a daily request limit and a paid Pro subscription with unlimited requests. Free tier limits are enforced per device and may be adjusted at our discretion. ## 4. Subscription and Billing Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. - You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. - We generally do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us. - If we permanently discontinue the Service, active Pro subscribers may request a refund for the current (most recent) billing period by contacting us within 30 days of the discontinuation notice. - Prices may change with reasonable notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before price changes take effect. ## 5. Acceptable Use You agree not to: - Use the Service to process illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable content - Attempt to circumvent free tier limits, rate limiting, or other usage restrictions - Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application - Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service - Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use - Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure ## 6. Your Content You retain ownership of the text you submit for processing. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to process any text you submit and that it does not violate any third party's rights. Text submitted for processing is sent to third-party AI providers. By using the Service, you consent to this transmission. Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential business data, or trade secrets unless you accept the associated risks. ## 7. Bring Your Own API Key The Service allows you to use your own API keys for third-party providers. When doing so, your usage is governed by the respective provider's terms and pricing. We are not responsible for charges incurred on your API accounts or for the providers' handling of your data. ## 8. Intellectual Property The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials. ## 9. Disclaimer of Warranties The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or inappropriate. You should review all AI output before using it. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or quality of any AI-generated content. You are solely responsible for how you use the output, including any consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated text in professional, legal, medical, financial, or any other context. ## 10. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater. ## 11. Termination We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. ## 12. Service Discontinuation We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or permanently discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service. In the event of permanent discontinuation, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice. Active Pro subscribers may request a refund for the current billing period as described in Section 4. ## 13. Service Availability We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. ## 14. Third-Party Dependencies The Service relies on third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI) and infrastructure services. We are not responsible for outages, changes, or discontinuation of these third-party services. If a provider changes its terms, pricing, or availability, we may need to adjust or limit the Service accordingly. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund except as described in Section 12. ## 15. Indemnification You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights, including claims arising from the content you submit for processing. ## 16. Changes to Terms We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users. ## 17. Governing Law These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
